About - Our History - Our
Future
Caps' Cue Club has been in
operation over 34 years,
since February 1979..
It's
unbelievable how time
flies... 30 years seems like
a blink in the grand scheme
of things...
We've seen really great
times, and really bad times
too.. (Like the financial,
and job situations that many
of us are going through right
now.)
We lost our Mom (Mary) and
our Dad (Sam). (We were so
fortunate to have them for as
long as we did)
We've seen so many of our
good friends, family, and
customers pass.. (Most
recently Tony Rendino )
Many old timers, and so many
just passing through.. All
pages in the big book of
life..
We've been though great times
in the billiard parlor /
restaurant business, and
we've witnessed hard times
too, in fact we are still
struggling through tough
times right now..
The reason I am telling you
this is because we have some
good news, and a glimmer of
hope for the future because
of some of our customers.
I say customers, but I should
really say our "extended
family", because most if not
all of the people that come
to Cap's Cue Club for more
than a week or two, become
part of that family.. That's
not just an idle statement,
that is the truth..
One day, out of the blue (as
far as I know), two of our
customers began to take it
upon themselves to do some
repair work on a wall that
had some damage, and was in
need of repair for quite a
long time, but it wasn't a
necessity, so it was put on
hold. (Which included not
just the repair, but also
replacing some of the wall
itself, and they paid for the
materials)
From that point on more
little repairs we're getting
done, then we had some help
getting new cloth for all 13
of our tables, and the more
our friends/customers/family
found out what people were
doing, the more people
started helping out in one
way or another..
We now have new balls for all
of our tables, new lights
over all the tables, our
ceiling was painted for a
greatly reduced rate.. and so
on...
As a way of thanking our
friends who helped and or
contributed anything, we had
a party..
My Brother Dickie's band
played, (REQUEST) my Sister
Shari put out a Great buffet,
and many people brought food,
and drinks to share also..
Shari, and Dickie have
dedicated the better parts of
their lives to give people a
"A Great Place to Eat, and
Play Pool", and I, or we are
just so thankful that they
were, or are being recognized
for that fact..
So on behalf of Dickie,
Shari, and myself (Eric), I'd
just like to say a big thank
you once again to all
concerned.
Thank you for taking the time
to read this..
God Bless,
The Cappottos
